Who We Are

PESAID KE is a community-driven development organization working to advance inclusive, sustainable and resilient communities. We exist in response to persistent social, economic and environmental challenges affecting vulnerable and underserved communities.

About Us

PESAID KE is a community-driven development organization working to advance inclusive, sustainable and resilient communities. We exist because lasting development requires communities to have the knowledge, opportunities, resources and voice to shape their own futures.

Our work brings together sustainable livelihoods, climate resilience, environmental sustainability, sustainable agriculture, gender equality, disability inclusion, youth empowerment and community wellbeing. We collaborate with communities, partners, governments and other stakeholders to address social, economic and environmental challenges, strengthen local capacity, and create opportunities for women, youth, persons with disabilities, older persons and other groups experiencing vulnerability to thrive.

We believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, access essential services, exercise their rights, and contribute meaningfully to society. Through innovation, partnership and community-led action, we are building a more inclusive, equitable, resilient and sustainable future for all.

About PESAID KE

Where We Work

We work with vulnerable and underserved communities, meeting people where the need is greatest. We believe in the power of collaboration and strategic partnerships to deliver sustainable outcomes, working within existing community systems and structures to create lasting change.

Vision

Inclusive, sustainable and resilient communities where all people can live with dignity and shape their own futures.

Mission

To empower communities through inclusive, sustainable and community-driven development that addresses poverty, injustice and exclusion.

What We Do

We believe that true development begins with compassion — standing with those most often forgotten and restoring dignity where it has been denied. Our work is organized around six connected strategic programs, delivered with humanity, solidarity and hope.

Our Strategic Programs

Climate Action & Environmental Sustainability

The climate crisis strikes hardest at the poor. We empower families with climate adaptation, conservation, tree growing and green skills so that even in a changing world, hope can still take root.

Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems

Through climate-smart farming, kitchen gardens, agroforestry, beekeeping and aquaculture, we help families turn vulnerability into food security, self-reliance and environmental stewardship.

Economic Empowerment & Livelihoods

We open doors through enterprise, skills and vocational training, financial literacy and green jobs — creating inclusive economic opportunity for women, youth and persons with disabilities.

Gender, SRHR & Youth Wellbeing

We give young people knowledge, confidence and safe choices, protect the dignity of every girl through menstrual health support, and give women and girls the voice and power to thrive as equals.

Disability Inclusion & Accessibility

We walk hand-in-hand with persons with disabilities — breaking down stigma and exclusion through access to healthcare, education, livelihoods, assistive devices and safe, inclusive spaces.

Community Resilience & Social Protection

We restore hope for older persons and vulnerable households through shelter, meals, companionship, psychosocial support and community care — honouring our elders and protecting those left behind.

Our Achievements

We have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the most vulnerable — restoring hope, protecting dignity and building lasting change. These milestones reflect not just projects, but lives touched and communities transformed:

  • Championed Disability Rights: Advocated for the inclusion, accessibility and dignity of persons with disabilities — breaking barriers to education, healthcare and leadership.
  • Protected and Uplifted Older Persons: Provided shelter, nutrition and companionship to older persons who had been neglected, ensuring they live with love, honour and dignity.
  • Built Resilient Livelihoods: Trained women and youth in climate-smart agriculture, beekeeping and fish farming — turning vulnerability into self-reliance and food security.
  • Empowered Young People: Delivered SRHR education in schools, helping reduce teenage pregnancies and early marriages and giving girls the chance to dream beyond limits.
  • Mobilized Communities: Established grassroots networks and volunteer programs, uniting ordinary citizens in extraordinary acts of service.
  • Forged Strategic Partnerships: Built alliances with local and international organizations, amplifying the voices of the marginalized on national and global platforms.
